SUNDAY 28 APRIL 2013. So this weekend I had the opportunity to hang out with my all time favourite Indie Photographer, LOVE YAZ! Ever since starting work with her early last year, I’ve been closely following her BRIGHT, FRESHand SUPER CLEAN photographs, as they trend across the internet and flood magazine pages the world wide! Needless to say, I was wetting myself with excitement when she turned around and asked if I wanted to come along and take a few behind the scene shots.
Arriving at Princess Polly (BRISBANE), camera’s slung over our shoulders and make-up bags piled up our arms, barely had I walked into the store before Yaz stood facing me with a gorgeous pastel printed, Dr. Love dress by Finders Keepers. She said, “This is what we’re after, can you help me find some more?”. GASP! of course :)
Fifteen minutes & 12 items later, we walked out of Princess Polly, our bags packed to their pink string handles with stunning prints and tie die garments. Dr. Love was going to look gorgeous on one lucky model and I could hardly wait to see it.
After finally making it through hair and make-up, we arrived on location. The view was amazing! Perched high on a rooftop, above the buzzing streets and Market Stalls of Fortitude Valley, is where I would spend the next 2 hours.
It was about 3:30PM in the afternoon when we finally took the last photo for the day. I was exhausted and after packing up camp, I slung myself into the shadow a of building, leant up against a wall and began flicking through the photos i’d taken of the day. The girls looked amazing! The clothes looked amazing! The location, was amazing! I was blown away by the vision Yaz had for the shoot. Everything worked so well together, it was incredible.
I will remember that Sunday for a long time to come!
